Returning for our second year with The Earthshot Prize, our 2025 stage design was set against the striking backdrop of Rio de Janeiro’s Museum of Tomorrow — a venue that embodies innovation, optimism, and the Prize’s vision for environmental hope.

Inspired by the expressive architecture of Santiago Calatrava, the stage centered on a sculptural ribbed canopy — conceived as a gesture of shelter and connection. Its illuminated blades shifted in tone and rhythm throughout the ceremony, responding to the evolving emotional arc of the evening.

A circular layout anchored the experience, while living forest installations enveloped the stage, keeping the natural world physically and symbolically at the heart of the event. The result was an environment that felt open, optimistic, and deeply rooted in the Earthshot mission.
